NEW YORK, Oct. 13 — Wall Street shrugged off its worst week ever and staged the biggest single-day rally since the Great Depression, catapulting the Dow Jones industrial average to a record 936-point gain and offering relief from eight consecutive days of heavy losses. U.S. stock futures further decline after housing data

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — U.S. stock indexes futures added to early Friday losses after data showed a large drop in housing starts and building permits for September. Down 106 points before the report, futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average [$indu] were down 137 points at 8,829. Those for the S&P 500 dropped 12.9 points to 928.1, while Nasdaq 100 futures were off 24.25 points at 1,298.75.
